Involvement

Just after the console release of The Abandoned Planet, Snapbreak was excited to continue their presence on console. This time for one of their biggest titles yet, Boxes: Lost Fragments. After catching up with Snapbreak, we got introduced to the developers at Big Loop Studios.
When I first saw the game, I knew the controls would be the most interesting challenge for us to redesign on console. The game featured a lot of clicking, sliding and rotating. All very satsifying interactions, but designed for mouse and touch input!

Because of the scale of the project and the smaller timeframe, we expanded the porting team at Extra Nice. A former intern at Extra Nice, John Konstantinou, tackled the programming of the port.
I handled platform setup, provided direction on the inputsystem, QA submissions and internal communication.

Boxes: Lost Fragments releases on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4/5 and Xbox One/Series on 6 November 2025!

I have worked with Ewoud on several porting projects, and I can say with all honesty that he is one of the best partners we’ve had. He is extremely knowledgeable, and even when he’s not familiar with a subject, he will work with you until it’s resolved.
